Information on the project

The project

The major project is called "Via Sacra - A contribution to cross-border networking and development of a tourism product in the border triangle". It is a funded project within the cooperation program Cooperation Program Interreg Poland - Saxony 2021-2027. The project has a total value of 366,337.88 euros. The funding from the European Union amounts to 80 percent.

The aim of the project

The aim of the project is to create a Via Sacra tourist product in the border triangle that guests can experience. This connection is to be achieved by designing a cycling and hiking route along existing cycling and hiking trails on the Polish side.
This will make a positive contribution to improving the attractiveness of the border region and preserving the shared cultural heritage, in particular the sacred history and sacred monuments and facilities.
Spiritual travel is playing an increasingly important role in tourism. The development of tourist products along the Via Sacra pilgrimage route, which already exists on the German and Czech sides, is intended to create new reasons to travel.
